Description Documentary poverty does not clearly give a medieval origin to this image of fine marble, it measures eighty-five centimeters; and it is made, according to some, in alabaster and, according to others, in sacroidal marble, very thin and transparent, marble from which there are no quarries on the island. Hollow in the back, perhaps for needs to lighten it to make it easier to move, is split horizontally, in two parts, at the height of the foot of the Child. |
